Captains Class
About
The US Maritime Academy Chicago Captains Class is a Coast Guard approved 80-hour Master and OUPV class which meets 3 days a week for 8 weeks. During the course we cover all of the Coast Guard required material Including Charting, Navigation, Rules, Deck General, and Deck Safety. We also administer the Coast Guard approved tests so that you don’t need to go to the Regional Examinations Center and take the Coast Guard tests.
We spread the class over 8 weeks so that you have time to learn and understand the material rather than just put it in short-term memory to pass the tests. Our goal is to make every graduate an informed safe captain.
